NECROPHOBIC

NECROPHOBIC was formed in Stockholm, Sweden the year 1989 by guitarist David Parland and drummer Joakim Sterner to give the world a band that created unholy death metal. Around this time, most bands played death metal in the veins of Carcass, Napalm Death etc. Necrophobic had a bit different influences and focused more on to create a much more dark and evil sounding music. So, one of the founders - Joakim answers the questions.

Scorpio: HAIL! Here's Vladimir 'Scorpio' Osipov from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. How are you?Does NECROPHOBIC have plans to record new album?

Joakim: Yes, we are writing for the new album as we speak.I believe that the next album will be something really special.

S.: How was the idea to re-release you cd The Third Antichrist?NECROPHOBIC

J.: All our previous albums have been released by our former label,Black Mark Production. However, we signed anew record deal with Hammerheart before we wrote and recorded "Bloodhymns".Hammerheart then dealed withBlack Mark Production and wanted to buy the rights to all our old stuf and they succeeded.Since the distribution of theold albums have been bad from time to time, Hammerheart thought it was a good idea tore-release the 3 old albums. Weliked that idea and came up with the idea to re-design them as well. So now they arefully available again, re-masteredand re-designed.

S.: Will one of the songs from Bloodhymnes ever be the national anthen of Sweden? How do you think? :)

J.: No, that will never be the case, but it would be cool if some notes was themusic to a big event or a commercial for something cool.

S.:Style of music, NECROPHOBIC plays is determinated as Satanic Death. How do you treatreligion and satanism?

J.: I'm trying to understand what you really mean with that question. What we do is totry to think for ourselves. Peopleinvolved in religion seem to not think by themselves. They are forced or led to do thingsand we think that is the wrongway. We increase our vision with the dark and evil stuff. Our songs can be read asstatements, but we don't force ourlyrics and opinions onto anyone. People are free to interpret them in any way they want.

S.:NECROPHOBIC is known as developer of new words.Bloodhymnes as one word. Necrogram instead of pentagram.Explain their roots, please.necrogram

J.: In proper english, the title would be "Blood Hymns", but we liked it better as a title with the words together...Bloodhymns. The necrogramis similar to the pentagram, but as it's re-done and we're NECROPHOBIC, the symbol couldn't be called other (or better) than necrogram.

S.:"Blood". What does it mean for you?

J.: It symbolizes a lot. Power, magic, death, life, war. It's a strong word...

S.:Where do you find the ideas for your songs? Films, books, life?

J.: From everywhere. All lyrics are based upon something. Inspired by dreams, books, movies, something we've read.It can be anything, really.

S.:How is it to be the main group on Hammerheart?NECROPHOBIC

J.: Awesome! Finally, we have the attention we deserve and have deserved for avery long time.

S.:NECROPHOBIC is evil on stage, and what are you in simply life?

J.: Same as upon the stage, but without instruments and music. Ha, no, we're notrunning around like teenagerstrying to find his/her image. We are regular metal maniacs that like to spend time withfamily and friends, have a few drinksand watch sports and other regular stuff. We are not from Norway, you know. We can allowourselves to enjoy ourselvesand have a laugh once in a while.

S.:What do you image, when hear such words as "CIS-states" and "post Soviet Union"?

J.: Haven't thought much about it, actually, so I'll pass on that one.

S.:Will your Russian and Ukrainian fans see you on stage in their cities in near future?

J.: If someone will book us to play in any of the countries mentioned, we'll come andplay if the arrangements are good.

S.:And at the end message to your fans in our country:

J.: Metal will never die!!!
