S.: Your songs there only three, the rest covers IMMORTAL, DARKTHRONE and MAYHEM. Who wanted to make this coveriada?

A.: Our fans. After releasing of "Pesni Mertvyh" ("Sings Of Deadmen") has come huge number of letters with requests to record covers in studio (their recording has been made on one of performances of group and has got on an album as bonus traks). Why not.

S.: In that case, this release should call mini cd, but not full-length album. How do you think?

A.: Call it as you wish.

S.: And who is (was) the girl (half-girl) on cover picture?

A.: No comments here, I can only say, that she was only 18.

S.: And why there is no logo and no albums' names on your last two releases' cover pictures? Only clear pictures... Do you think, that all these would will impair artwork?

A.: Yes, logo and names of albums, by my sight, would impair a little a picture. They without it are quite remembered.

S.: This year band left vocalist Otec Sergiy. What was the reason?

A.: Actually his love to alcohol.Its drunk tricks by all have bothered and after next (concert in Tula was broken) we had asked him from group.

S.: How new singer Vallgrim was entered in collective? By the way, has Valgrim left CHERNOBOG or simply is registered paralelly and there and at you?

A.: He combines work in both commands. I know him him for a long time therefore have suggested him to sing in ASHEN LIGHT. Valgrim agreed. Actually that's all.

S.: I see the lyrical side of your creativity has exchanged. Prefix "pagan" you have obviously unfastened. What changes are connected to?

A.: Initially the group was going to work in this style, and it became possible.

S.: What did prevent till this time?

A.: Everyone in group had own opinion in what style continue to work. Quite often they didn't were similar.

S.: But in spite of on anything, lyrics remain Russian-speaking. And what you think of those CIS grops, which write the English-speaking texts, the deprived rhymes, and at times even sense?

A.: Probably they want to make the way with English-speaking texts on the West, maybe are afraid to sing because their texts in a "native" variant become funny and ridiculous. I do not know, it is not interesting for me. Let make all they want.

S.: Formula by ASНEN LIGHT - "one album in one year". Hence the following creation it is necessary to expect in 2004? Have you composed something new?

A.: Work boils, but it is necessary to wait for an album. We want to record more things. Will be covers too.

S.: Whose songs will you cover?

A.: Have meanwhile stopped on BURZUM and BEHEMOTH.

S.: And what from new songs have already composed?

A.: About them still early to speak. New compositions are till now in a working variant, we have to work a little more with them.

S.: Have ever thought about video? What should be clip of ASHEN LIGHT, describe please.

A.: We thought about a clip, maybe it becomes a bonus to a new album. What will be this clip we while also do not know.

S.: It is hard to get any information about band. Come on a site ashenlight.narod.ru, and there only contact information, info consisting of musicians of the current line-up and a discography, lyrics, well and some music to listen. In the booklet too - any Thanks and the similar information. What such image of mystery is connected with?

A.: The matter is that I would like that ASHEN LIGHT was known first of all for the works, instead of changes of line-up, our songs on a site are of not the best quality. But they can be found on other resources in mp3 too.

S.: In September you'll take part in festival Morbid Fest in Germany. Our collectives frequently have various problems with departure abroad: opening of visas, etc. therefore almost nobody plays abroad. How did group receive this invitation?

A.: Ha, we also have problems connected with trip. We even didn't assume, that someone somewhere will invite us, but due to cooperation with MORE HATE prod. it becames possible.

S.: With whom will you share a stage?

S.: Will you present a new material?

A.: Yes, but not only, the basis will be songs from last albums.

S.: What hopes do you connect with this concert?

A.: Probably begin cause more Russian bands. We have many talented collectives. And it was quite good to us to do a bit of travelling more.

S.: What collectives you think "make the face" to metal-stage of the CIS-states?

A.: There are many good bands here, but I'll not name them, all know them well.

S.: Whether should groups aspire on the western metal-market?

A.: First of all they should aspire make a qualitative material. I do not understand those who tries "to compete" in music. Such as "we play better and so on. For me music is an opportunity to inform fans the ideas, experiences. Qualitative is honest and sincere!

S.: And what young collectives can you note?

A.: It is not a lot of such groups and it is very difficult for me to answer this question as I am personally familiar with many participants of such bands. And to allocate such collectives should only fans.
