Swedish melodic metal outfit METALITE have unveiled the full details of their fifth studio album "Discovery," set for release on September 25, 2026 via Perception (Reigning Phoenix Music), alongside the launch of the album's lead single "In Case of Emergency."

"Discovery" is the most ambitious record METALITE have attempted: a concept album set in the year 2058, three years after humanity has been forced to abandon Earth for survival in space. The album's 12 tracks explore themes of human evolution, technological dependency, survival, liberation, and hope in a universe shaped by digital realities and cosmic exploration. It is science fiction as heavy metal — and METALITE, who have built a reputation for cinematic melodic metal with a contemporary edge, are ideally positioned to deliver it.

The single "In Case of Emergency" serves as an immediate statement of intent. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Jacob Hansen — whose credits include VOLBEAT, EVERGREY, and AMARANTHE — the track features the dynamic riffing and cinematic synth layers that have become METALITE's calling card, driven by the compelling vocals of Erica Ohlsson. Band founder Edwin Premberg described the track as "raw, melodic, and made to be felt," adding that it "hits hard both musically and emotionally."

METALITE's lineup — Ohlsson (vocals), Premberg (guitar, additional vocals, programming), Robert Örnesved (guitar), Erik Junttila Johansson (drums), and Robert Majd (bass) — has proven itself a tight, creative unit across four previous albums. "Discovery" represents a genuine creative leap: setting an entire album within a coherent science fiction narrative is a significant undertaking, and METALITE have clearly committed to the concept fully.

The album's 12 tracks include "Our Time Has Come," "Into The Maze," "Cyberspace," "The Metal Elite," "Neon Rain," "Echoes Of You," "Starchild," "Wings Of Fire," "Captive In The Past," "Supremacy Of One," and the intriguing closer "Triforce." The futuristic setting provides ample material for both lyrical and sonic exploration.

Hansen's production expertise — the Dane has worked on landmark records by Volbeat, Evergrey, Amaranthe, and others — ensures that the album's ambitious sonic vision will be realised with clarity and power. The combination of METALITE's melodic instincts and Hansen's mastery of contemporary metal production promises a high-calibre result.

For fans of AMARANTHE, NIGHTWISH, or any band operating at the intersection of melodic metal and ambitious concept writing, "Discovery" is shaping up to be one of the most compelling metal releases of autumn 2026. Mark September 25 in your calendar.
