THE STONE Magla

When I saw the Cyrillic, I thought, that the German label Folter Records released the Cd of Russian or Ukrainian gang. But “j” letter told me, that this is Serbian, and I was right – THE STONE band is from Serbia and Montenegro. The great culture of pagans lives on Balkans too, musicians play finest pagan/black metal. Mostly midtempo music, going with fast blast-beats in moments. Very “light”, hardly heard symphonic samples create atmospheric background, and raw black metal guitars make quite good melodies. Yes, I’m not wrong, and the songs themselves are composed and recorded so that everything sounds nice. Sometimes you can hear pretty guitar solos. The good solution is also the “cover” of album. The birds singing in the beginning of the first track discovers the Balkan forest, which sinks in the fog (“magla” in Serbian) accompanied by the symphonic ending of the final song.

Scorpio 6.5/10
