ANATHEMA

ANATHEMA are a British band from Liverpool, founded in 1990, whose career represents one of rock's most remarkable transformations. Beginning as a doom/death metal act in the vein of early Paradise Lost, they gradually shed all metal characteristics to become one of the most emotionally affecting progressive rock acts in the world. Their later albums — "Weather Systems", "Distant Satellites", "A Sort of Homecoming" — are celebrated as masterpieces of atmospheric, melancholic rock. The band announced an indefinite hiatus in 2020.
