ARCH ENEMY is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Halmstad, founded in 1995 by guitarist Michael Amott. Shaped by Amott's twin-guitar melodic death metal vision rooted in the Gothenburg tradition, the band achieved worldwide breakthrough when Angela Gossow took over vocals in 2000, bringing a formidable growl to their sharp, politically charged anthems. Current vocalist Alissa White-Gluz has continued this trajectory with global touring success. Signed to Century Media, ARCH ENEMY are one of the most successful and recognizable melodic death metal acts alive.
