ARSIS is an American technical melodic death metal band from Virginia Beach, formed in 2000. Masterminded by guitarist and vocalist James Malone, they brought a uniquely melodic sensibility to technical death metal, weaving guitar harmonies and neo-classical leads through brutally precise compositions. Signed to Agonia Records, their albums are admired for their emotional depth — themes of darkness, remorse, loss, and despair rendered through fiendishly complex music. ARSIS remain one of the most respected technical death metal acts in the United States.
