BUTTERFLY TEMPLE is a russian pagan doom/black metal band from moscow, formed in 1995. Occupying a distinctive space that blends dark Slavic paganism with the crushing weight of doom metal and the atmospheric intensity of black metal, they have explored fantasy, legends, and ancestral mythology through their extensive catalogue. An independent act, BUTTERFLY TEMPLE remain one of the more enduring voices in the russian pagan metal underground and continue to be active today.
