COMATOSE VIGIL were a russian funeral doom metal band from moscow, active from 2003 to 2016. One of the defining acts of russian funeral doom, their impossibly slow, crushing compositions evoked solitude, despair, and pain through layered guitars and glacial arrangements. Their albums are regarded as essential listening for devotees of the funeral doom genre. The band split up in 2016, leaving a small but deeply respected discography.
