DECAPITATED are a Polish technical death metal band from Krosno, formed in 1996. Emerging as teenage prodigies, they burst onto the global death metal scene with "Winds of Creation" — a debut of staggering technical sophistication. Subsequent albums cemented their place among the elite of technical death metal. Despite the tragic death of drummer Vitek in 2007 and serious legal difficulties faced by vocalist Wacław Kiełtyka in 2017, they have persevered and continue to release powerful material on Nuclear Blast. DECAPITATED are Poland's most technically formidable death metal act.
