DESTRUCTION are a German thrash metal band from Weil am Rhein, founded in 1983. One of the "Big Four" of German thrash — alongside KREATOR, SODOM, and TANKARD — they helped define the aggressive, technically demanding sound of European thrash metal in the mid-1980s. Albums like "Sentence of Death", "Infernal Overkill", and "Eternal Devastation" are genre touchstones. Reunited and revitalised, their current run on Napalm Records has produced some of their most energetic work in years. DESTRUCTION remain one of Germany's most essential metal exports.
