ESOTERIC are a British funeral doom/death metal band from Birmingham, formed in 1992. One of the most extreme and sonically ambitious acts in all of doom metal, they create massive, multi-part compositions that blur the boundaries between doom, death, psychedelia, and ambient music. Their thematic territory spans misanthropy, hopelessness, infinity, space, dreams, and isolation. They have released material on Peaceville Records and continue to stand as one of doom metal's most uncompromising and challenging acts. ESOTERIC remain active.
