HAGGARD are a German progressive death metal and classical/orchestral metal band from Munich, formed in 1989. Among the most ambitious acts in metal history, founder Asis Nasseri created full orchestral arrangements performed by live classical musicians and integrated them with death metal, creating a unique fusion that explored historical and astronomical themes with extraordinary scholarly depth. Signed to Drakkar Records, their few but remarkable albums stand as unique monuments in metal's most experimental territory. HAGGARD remain active.
