HAMMERFALL are a Swedish heavy/power metal band from Gothenburg, founded in 1993. One of the key acts in the mid-1990s revival of traditional heavy metal, their debut "Glory to the Brave" (1997) triggered a renaissance of melodic power metal in Europe that influenced an entire generation of bands. With Joacim Cans's powerful vocals, Oscar Dronjak's galloping guitar riffs, and medieval knight imagery, they made power metal exciting again. Signed to Nuclear Blast, HAMMERFALL remain one of the most beloved Swedish metal acts and continue to release and tour heavily.
