KATAKLYSM are a Canadian death metal band from Montréal, formed in 1991. Pioneers of what they coined "northern hyperblast" — an extreme form of death metal characterized by hyperspeed blasts and abstract, mystical themes — they evolved into a more accessible but still powerful melodic death/groove metal act. Signed to Nuclear Blast, their prolific catalogue and relentless touring have made them one of Canada's most internationally successful death metal exports. KATAKLYSM remain active and dedicated.
