MOONSPELL are a Portuguese gothic metal band from Brandoa, formed in 1992. The most internationally celebrated metal band in Portuguese history, they began with a raw black metal sound before evolving into a richly textured gothic metal act steeped in Portuguese folklore, poetry, magic, and sexuality. Signed to Napalm Records, their expansive catalogue — from "Wolfheart" to "Hermitage" — documents one of gothic metal's most artistically adventurous journeys. MOONSPELL remain active and at the height of their creative powers.
