NUCLEAR ASSAULT are an American thrash metal band from New York, active from 1984 to 2022. Formed from the ashes of ANTHRAX with bassist Danny Lilker, they were among the most politically and socially engaged of all thrash bands, addressing warfare, political corruption, death, and societal issues with sardonic, unsparing wit. Albums like "Game Over" and "Handle with Care" are thrash classics. They split up in 2022, leaving a legacy as one of New York's most important thrash exports.
