OBITUARY

OBITUARY are an American death metal band from Gibsonton, Florida, formed in 1988. One of the founding bands of the Florida death metal scene, their debut "Slowly We Rot" and follow-up "Cause of Death" — featuring the legendary guttural vocals of John Tardy — are two of the most important records in death metal history. Their mid-paced, groove-driven approach to death metal was enormously influential. Signed to Relapse Records, OBITUARY remain active and continue to release powerful, authentic Florida death metal.
