PECCATUM was a Norwegian avant-garde extreme metal and avant-garde rock band formed in 1998 by Ihsahn and Ihriel of EMPEROR fame. Their music defied genre categorization, ranging from black metal-influenced extremity to atmospheric art-rock and operatic experimentation. The project dissolved in 2006, with Ihsahn pursuing a celebrated solo career. Their three albums remain intriguing curiosities of the Norwegian experimental scene.
