RIVENDELL is an Austrian folk and black metal band from Vienna, formed in 1993. Named after Tolkien's elven realm, they combine folk metal sensibility with black metal intensity, drawing on Tolkien's mythology and pagan themes. One of the older folk metal acts in Austria, they represent the European folk metal underground of the 1990s.
