SEMARGL is a Ukrainian black and death metal band from Kyiv, formed in 1997. Taking their name from a Slavic deity, their early work was rooted in raw black and death metal before they underwent a radical evolution toward electronic rock and later drum and bass. A band of extreme stylistic contrast, they remain one of the most unconventional acts to emerge from the Ukrainian underground.
