VALHALLA was a russian symphonic black metal band from Petrozavodsk, Karelia, formed in 1997. Drawing on mythology and abstract darkness, they crafted an atmospheric and orchestral brand of black metal characteristic of the Karelian underground scene. The band split up after several releases, leaving a memorable contribution to the remote but distinctive russian northern metal underground.
