SEPULTURA released "Arise" on March 25, 1991 via Roadrunner Records — the album that catapulted the Brazilian thrash metal giants from underground heroes to global icons. Produced by Scott Burns at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida, "Arise" combined devastating thrash riffs with tribal percussion and death metal aggression to create something wholly new and ferocious. Max Cavalera's vocals were at their most savage, Igor Cavalera's drumming thunderous and precise, and the rhythm section of Paulo Jr. locked in with surgical tightness. Tracks like "Arise," "Dead Embryonic Cells," "Desperate Cry," and "Murder" showed a band in absolute command of their craft. The subsequent world tour spanned 220 shows across 39 countries.
