SHTORM – replaced a girl on a mic

Angelica, the frontwoman of SHTORM (Yaroslavl’) has quit the band. The leave was initiated by the manager of the band Ruslan Svobodnyi. A new girl on a mic has been found already – Natle Storm (a student in the Yaroslavl Sobinov’s musical colledge) is to be the one. The band is currently rehearsing and planning to start recording of the new album ‘Juda’ in the nearest future. More gothic overtones are expected.

1979

On March 24, 1979, MOTÖRHEAD released "Overkill" — their second studio album on Bronze Records and their commercial breakthrough. Produced by Jimmy Miller (who had worked with THE ROLLING STONES), the album reached #24 on the UK Albums Chart, a significant milestone for a band that had only been given a chance to record after exhausting their label's patience. "Overkill" captured MOTÖRHEAD at their most raw and powerful: the title track opened with Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor's blistering double bass drum intro — one of the most iconic drum performances in rock history — before Lemmy Kilmister's bass and vocals hit like a freight train. "No Class," "Damage Case," "Stay Clean," and "Metropolis" established MOTÖRHEAD's unique position at the intersection of punk speed and heavy metal power. No one sounded like them in 1979, and no one has quite matched them since.
