EUROPE and record magnates Sanctuary Records are together again -- Europe's largest independent label will release a new album by the legendary Swedish rockers, "Secret Society."

The upcoming record will be the seventh in the band's discography and the second released in partnership with Sanctuary. The group and label previously worked together on the phenomenal "Start From The Dark" (2004), which marked EUROPE's return to the big stage. This time, the scope of the collaboration has expanded significantly, covering the United States and Scandinavia -- the new album will now be readily available in those territories as well.

As for the style of "Secret Society," it is not a continuation of "Start From The Dark," which in turn bore a strong resemblance to the multi-platinum "The Final Countdown" (1986). This time, EUROPE decided to diversify their sound, leaving behind the baggage of two decades past and confidently stepping into the 21st century. The band self-produced the album, striving to achieve the most contemporary sound possible. Stefan Glaumann, who previously worked with RAMMSTEIN and Apoptygma Berzerk, assisted with mixing. The album was mastered by George Marino (U2, VELVET REVOLVER) at Sterling Sound studios in New York. Lennart Ostlund, a veteran of the LED ZEPPELIN school, closely oversaw all stages of the studio process.

"Secret Society" is a major step forward for both the band and the label. Frank Strobele, captain of Sanctuary Group's European office, had this to say: "I am a huge fan of melodic hard rock, and I must say that EUROPE have been and remain one of the few bands capable of writing superhits without losing their footing. Their live performances have always set the standard for a rock 'n' roll show. This band has incredible, explosive energy! 'Start From The Dark' proved that after many years of silence, they had not lost their ability to create, and the forthcoming album -- 'Secret Society' -- is further proof of that. On behalf of everyone at Sanctuary Records, I'll say we are proud to work with EUROPE. They are a truly special diamond in our collection, known for its enduring stars -- such as Billy Idol, SIMPLE MINDS -- and ultra-talented young acts like DRAGONFORCE."

Should we expect EUROPE to return to their roots? No! With the new album, the Swedes are reaching a qualitatively new level, deftly balancing between an uncompromising heavy sound and poignant ballads. The musicians believe that truth lies in constant movement and evolution, that life is worth seeking not only on Mars. Tracks like "Forever Travelling," "Love Is Not The Enemy," and "A Mother's Son" perfectly illustrate the band's drive to explore new territory. A pleasant collage of acoustic guitars and piano invites the listener on a fascinating journey along the edge of the human soul. The title track "Secret Society" continues the tradition of LED ZEPPELIN's psychedelic pieces, while "Always The Pretenders," released as a single, will undoubtedly become the face of this album. The old EUROPE appears on the record only once -- when the magnificent "Devil Sings The Blues" plays.

Special attention should be paid to "With So Many Things To Be Found," a song the musicians dedicated to themselves. Its message is that there is a goal -- to remain a legend beyond time -- and one must constantly strive toward it.

"Secret Society" will be released on October 27. Following the album launch, the band plans to play a series of concerts across Europe.
