2003

LAMB OF GOD released "As the Palaces Burn," their third album (second under the LAMB OF GOD name) that established them as the premier American groove metal band of the 2000s. The album's relentless aggression, driven by Mark Morton and Willie Adler's crushing dual-guitar attack, redefined what modern metal could sound like. Randy Blythe's ferocious vocals on tracks like "Ruin" and "11th Hour" became the voice of a new generation of metal fans. Produced by Devin Townsend, the record had a raw, powerful sound that perfectly captured the band's live intensity. "As the Palaces Burn" was the album that launched LAMB OF GOD from underground contenders to metal headliners.
