Finnish gothic metal supergroup FOR MY PAIN are poised to release their comeback album "Buried Blue" on January 9 via Spinefarm, ending a remarkable 20-year hiatus that began after their 2005 sophomore effort "Fallen." The project originally brought together members of some of Finland's most acclaimed metal acts, including NIGHTWISH, ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW, CHARON, and REFLEXION, and their return has been one of the most talked-about comebacks in the Finnish metal community.

The eleven-track album was previewed by an impressive run of five singles: "Recoil Into Darkness," the provocatively titled "WitchBitch Elite," the Finnish-language "Hetken Tie on Kevyt," the emotional "Time Will Heal Our Wounds," and the haunting "Windows Are Weeping" featuring guest Troy Donockley, the multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with NIGHTWISH. Donockley's involvement adds an additional layer of folk-tinged atmosphere to a band already adept at blending gothic darkness with melodic beauty.

The band will embark on an album release tour hitting Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Kuopio, and Oulu through January and February, bringing their dark and melancholic sound back to Finnish stages for the first time in two decades. The 20-year gap makes FOR MY PAIN's return one of the longest hiatuses in metal history, surpassing even the lengthy absences of bands like CARCASS and AT THE GATES before their respective reunions. For fans of Finnish gothic metal who grew up on the first two records, "Buried Blue" represents not just a new album but the resurrection of an era.
