Hellfest Open Air 2026 in Clisson, France, scheduled for June 19-22, has announced its initial lineup, led by a headliner trio that reads like a heavy music dream bill: RAMMSTEIN, GHOST, and TOOL. The four-day festival continues to solidify its position as one of Europe's most prestigious and diverse heavy music events, offering a range that spans from industrial metal spectacle to progressive art metal to theatrical dark rock.

RAMMSTEIN's headline slot promises the German industrial metal titans' legendary live production — a pyrotechnic extravaganza that has set the standard for arena-level metal performances for over two decades. Till Lindemann and company have built a live show that transcends traditional concert boundaries, incorporating theatrical elements, provocative imagery, and enough fire to make any insurance adjuster nervous. Their Hellfest appearance will mark one of their only French festival dates in 2026.

GHOST, riding the unprecedented success of "Skeleta" and the Skeletour, bring their elaborately staged ritual to Clisson. The band's evolution under Tobias Forge's meticulous creative direction has been one of metal's most fascinating narratives, and their Hellfest performance will showcase Papa V Perpetua in the festival setting for the first time in France. TOOL, the Los Angeles progressive metal enigma led by Maynard James Keenan, round out the headliners. The band's notoriously selective touring schedule makes any confirmed appearance a significant event, and their cerebral, visually stunning live experience is perfectly suited to Hellfest's more adventurous audience.

Hellfest has grown from its 2006 founding into a cultural institution that draws over 200,000 attendees across its four days. The festival's six stages — the Mainstages, the Temple, the Altar, the Warzone, and the Valley — provide dedicated spaces for every conceivable shade of heavy music, from doom and stoner rock to grindcore and black metal. This programming diversity, combined with a location in the picturesque Loire Valley wine country, gives Hellfest a character distinct from more utilitarian festival experiences.

Four-day passes have been selling strongly since the announcement, with the RAMMSTEIN/GHOST/TOOL trifecta generating perhaps the strongest initial demand in the festival's history. Additional lineup waves will follow throughout spring.
