LAMB OF GOD's title track from their upcoming tenth studio album "Into Oblivion" continues to build powerful momentum across streaming platforms and active rock radio following its January 15 release. The three-minute-forty-second opener is laced with chugging riffs, mosh-inducing breakdowns, and eerie horror-soundtrack overtones that immediately set a dark, aggressive tone for the record.
The album drops March 13 via Epic Records and Century Media, produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur at multiple locations including the band's home base in Richmond, Virginia, Mark Morton's personal studio, and Total Access studios in Redondo Beach, California. The production captures LAMB OF GOD at their most ferocious, with Wilbur's approach emphasizing the raw power of the band's performances while maintaining the clarity needed to appreciate the intricate musicianship.
Vocalist Randy Blythe has been characteristically outspoken about the album's thematic content. "It's called 'Into Oblivion' because that's where we're heading," Blythe stated. "In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would've horrified people just 20 years ago." LAMB OF GOD have also announced a nationwide series of listening parties with more than 140 independent record stores celebrating the release weekend of March 13-15, with exclusive merch and an indie-exclusive limited edition Poltergeist vinyl variant available. The band's Spring North American tour kicks off March 17 with support from KUBLAI KHAN TX, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, and SANGUISUGABOGG, promising one of the heaviest touring packages of the year.
