San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans HEATHEN have signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records and launched their new partnership with "Never A God," a ferocious reworking of a deep cut originally penned by vocalist David White for his early '90s outfit LAUGHING DEAD. The announcement marks a significant milestone for a band that has spent four decades on the fringes of thrash royalty, consistently delivering technically proficient, razor-sharp metal without ever quite achieving the mainstream recognition enjoyed by their Bay Area peers in METALLICA, EXODUS, and TESTAMENT.

"We're going to start this new partnership off with a bang and give you something new to listen to while we continue to work on the new HEATHEN album," the band stated in a press release accompanying the single. The track itself is a blistering showcase of everything that has made HEATHEN a cult favorite since their 1987 debut "Breaking the Silence" — intricate dual guitar harmonies, relentless rhythmic precision, and White's distinctive vocal delivery that bridges the gap between melodic power metal and raw thrash aggression.

The decision to revisit obscure material from the members' side projects of the early 1990s was a deliberate one. HEATHEN recorded two tracks from those largely forgotten bands, reimagining them through the lens of their current sonic identity. The result is music that feels simultaneously nostalgic and fresh, honoring the era when Bay Area thrash was at its creative zenith while demonstrating that the band's songwriting chops have only sharpened with age.

A new full-length album is actively in the works, marking HEATHEN's return since 2020's critically acclaimed "Empire of the Blind," which was produced by Zeuss and featured a guest solo from Gary Holt of EXODUS. The signing with Napalm Records gives HEATHEN their most substantial label backing in years, suggesting that the forthcoming record will receive the promotional push and distribution network befitting a band of their caliber. For Bay Area thrash devotees, this partnership represents a long-overdue alignment of talent and infrastructure.
