IRON MAIDEN Confirm Complete 2027 Touring Hiatus

IRON MAIDEN have confirmed they will take all of 2027 off from touring and will not return to the road until at least 2028, bringing a definitive end to speculation about the band's immediate future after the conclusion of their monumental "Run For Your Lives" 50th anniversary world tour. The announcement underscores the staggering scope of a touring campaign that has consumed nearly two full years.

The "Run For Your Lives" tour spans 2025 and 2026, covering Europe, North America, Central and South America, Oceania, and Japan in what has been described as the most extensive and ambitious touring campaign in IRON MAIDEN's already legendary live career. The tour launched on May 27, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, introducing new drummer Simon Dawson — who replaced the retired Nicko McBrain — and a revolutionary stage production featuring digital screens replacing the traditional physical backdrops for the first time in the band's history.

The setlist has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, spanning the band's first nine studio albums from the 1980 self-titled debut through 1992's "Fear of the Dark," featuring deep cuts and fan favorites that haven't been performed in decades. The final shows will take place in November 2026 in Oceania and Japan, bringing the curtain down on what many consider the greatest farewell-before-the-farewell tour in metal history.

The hiatus will give Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers much-needed rest after what promises to be the most physically demanding tour of their careers. At the ages the band members will reach in 2027, the break is both understandable and necessary. Fans are urged to catch the remaining shows while they can — no one knows what form IRON MAIDEN will take when they eventually return.
