New York industrial metal veterans PRONG have announced "Live And Uncleansed," a new live album recorded over seven nights in July and August 2025, set for a March 6 release via SPV/Steamhammer. The LP captures guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor and his current lineup — Christopher Dean on bass and Tyler Joseph on drums — delivering eleven powerful live tracks plus three bonus recordings that showcase the unfiltered aggression and mechanical precision that have defined PRONG for over three decades.
The band, founded by Victor in 1986 in the crucible of New York City's Lower East Side hardcore and noise scene, has long occupied a unique space in heavy music. PRONG were among the first bands to fuse the intensity of thrash metal with the cold, rhythmic precision of industrial music, predating the commercial explosion of industrial metal in the mid-1990s. Their 1994 album "Cleansing" remains a landmark of the genre, and tracks like "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" and "Whose Fist Is This Anyway?" became crossover hits that bridged the gap between metal and alternative audiences.
"Live And Uncleansed" was compiled from performances at intimate club venues, capturing the raw energy that PRONG are known for delivering in close quarters with their audience. Victor has always maintained that PRONG is at its best as a live act, and the decision to release a proper live album — a relative rarity in the band's discography — suggests a confidence in their current form that bodes well for what comes next.
Speaking of which, Victor has confirmed that a new studio album is also planned for October 2026, making it a particularly busy year for the band. The promise of new studio material alongside a live document of the band's current capabilities gives PRONG fans plenty to look forward to. Pre-orders for "Live And Uncleansed" are available now through SPV/Steamhammer's webshop and standard digital platforms.
