Brazilian metal legends SEPULTURA continue their massive "Celebrating Life Through Death" farewell world tour with European dates, bringing their pioneering sound to audiences across the continent for what will truly be the final time. The farewell tour, announced in late 2023 to coincide with the band's 40th anniversary, has already covered Latin America, North America, and Australia, drawing emotional crowds at every stop as four decades of extreme metal history come to a close.
The current SEPULTURA lineup — guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Jr., vocalist Derrick Green, and drummer Greyson Nekrutman — has been delivering ferocious performances that span the band's entire discography, from the raw thrash fury of "Beneath The Remains" and "Arise" through the groundbreaking tribal groove metal of "Roots" and "Chaos A.D." to their more recent experimental work. While the absence of founding members Max and Igor Cavalera remains a talking point, the current lineup has earned respect through years of dedicated touring and quality studio output.
SEPULTURA have also announced a farewell EP, "The Cloud Of Unknowing," due April 24 via Nuclear Blast Records. The four-track EP features studio drumming from Greyson Nekrutman and includes songs "All Souls Rising," "Beyond the Dream," "Sacred Books," and "The Place." Vocalist Derrick Green has described it as one of SEPULTURA's most diverse and emotionally resonant releases, a fitting capstone to a career that fundamentally changed the landscape of extreme metal by proving that world-class thrash and death metal could emerge from anywhere, not just the Bay Area or Scandinavia.
