Ahead of tomorrow's Melbourne show, new BATTLE BEAST vocalist Marina La Torraca has given a candid interview about joining one of Finland's most successful metal exports.

La Torraca, a São Paulo native who built her reputation through PHANTOM ELITE and the symphonic supergroup EXIT EDEN, was announced as the replacement for Noora Louhimo in December. Her first shows with the band — in Japan and now Australia — mark the official beginning of a new chapter for a group that has been releasing records since 2005.

"When they called, I honestly didn't believe it at first," La Torraca said. "Battle Beast is a band I've admired for years. This is the start of something powerful — I could feel it even in rehearsals."

She described the Adelaide opening night as "emotional and surreal," adding that the crowd's response exceeded her expectations. The Melbourne show is at Max Watts on March 13, with Sydney's Manning Bar on March 14.
