Norwegian black metal icon Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo), frontman of his eponymous band ABBATH, has revealed the complete tracklist and release details for the upcoming album "Dread Reaper," set for release on May 22, 2026 via Season of Mist. The album, ABBATH's fourth solo release following "Abbath" (2016), "Outstrider" (2019), and "Dread Reaper's" predecessor "Trident Wolf Eclipse" (2019), was recorded at Troldhaugen and Studio Nyhagen in Norway and features the classic ABBATH lineup of Eikemo on vocals, bass, and guitar alongside guitarist Ole André "Creature" Bjørnsen and drummer Ukri Suvilehto.

The seven-track album runs 42 minutes and features the following songs: "Dread Reaper" (the title track), "Crushing the Altar," "Serpent of the Abyss," "Wrath Primordial," "The Black Throne," "Funeral Wolves," and "Victorious March." The tracklist reveals an album that is notably concise by modern standards — a deliberate choice, according to a press release, to deliver "maximum impact with minimum compromise." The lead single "Crushing the Altar," released alongside the tracklist announcement, is immediately identifiable as classic ABBATH: mid-paced black metal with a grooving, MOTÖRHEAD-influenced rhythmic backbone and Eikemo's uniquely rasping, gargling vocal delivery.

Season of Mist has confirmed that "Dread Reaper" will be available in multiple formats including standard CD, limited edition colored vinyl (three variants), and a box set featuring a patch, button set, and guitar pick. ABBATH will support the album with a European tour in June–July and a North American run in August–September 2026.
