Finnish melodic death/folk metal legends AMORPHIS have announced a major autumn 2026 European headline tour with Portuguese gothic/black metal veterans MOONSPELL as special guests, running from October 8 through November 20 across 35 European cities. The tour, billed as "Northern and Southern Lights — A Journey Through European Metal," brings together two of the continent's most beloved and critically acclaimed metal acts in a package that the bands' management describes as "a natural meeting of two kindred spirits."
AMORPHIS are riding a wave of momentum following the critical success of their 2022 album "Halo" and its accompanying "Tales from the Thousand Lakes" 30th anniversary celebration, which saw them perform their 1994 landmark album in its entirety to enthusiastic audiences across Europe. Their most recent studio album, released in late 2025, has continued the band's extraordinary creative run under the songwriting leadership of guitarist Esa Holopainen and the atmospheric production of Jens Bogren.
MOONSPELL, the Lisbon gothic/black metal institution formed in 1992 and now in their fourth decade of activity, bring their own substantial catalog and dedicated European fanbase to the package. Their most recent album "From DOWN Below" (2021) delivered some of the most emotionally resonant material of their career, and vocalist Fernando Ribeiro has been cited by press across Europe as one of the most compelling live performers in metal. The tour announcement has been greeted with exceptional enthusiasm on social media, with tickets for the London (Roundhouse), Paris (Zenith), and Berlin (Columbiahalle) dates already approaching sell-out in pre-sale.
