DISTURBED have announced a lavish 25th anniversary deluxe box set for their debut album "The Sickness," originally released on March 7, 2000, via Reprise Records. The comprehensive package, available for pre-order from March 10, will be released on August 7, 2026 — the date of the album's original recording completion anniversary — and includes an extraordinary collection of archival and new material celebrating one of the most commercially successful metal albums of the past 25 years.
The deluxe box set contains: the original album fully remastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound; a second disc of "The Sickness: Demos" featuring eleven previously unreleased demo recordings from 1999 that document the album's development; a Blu-ray of a recently unearthed complete concert recording from the band's debut headline tour in 2000; a third disc featuring acoustic versions of several "Sickness" tracks recorded specifically for this edition; an expanded 80-page hardcover book with extensive archival photography and new essays by all four band members; and a replica of the original "Sickness" tour laminate signed by David Draiman, Dan Donegan, John Moyer, and Mike Wengren.
"The Sickness" produced several of DISTURBED's most iconic songs, including "Down with the Sickness," "Stupify," "Voices," and "The Game" — tracks that defined a generation's introduction to modern heavy metal and remain staples of rock radio and streaming playlists. Vocalist David Draiman, speaking at the announcement, called the album "the record that gave me a reason to live at a point in my life when I really needed one." DISTURBED will perform the album in its entirety on a select number of anniversary shows in fall 2026.
