GOJIRA and MASTODON have announced a co-headline European tour running from May 2 through June 1, 2026, combining two of the most critically acclaimed heavy bands of the 21st century for what promises to be one of the metal events of the year. The 25-date run will cover major markets including London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Vienna, with the two bands alternating headline position at each show based on negotiations between their management teams.
Both bands are at significant moments in their careers: GOJIRA are touring in support of their acclaimed 2024 album "Magma II — Fortitude Reborn," the surprise follow-up to their 2016 album "Magma" that has been praised as one of their finest artistic achievements; while MASTODON's announcement of the "Leviathan II" album creates enormous anticipation for their summer release. The European tour predates the "Leviathan II" release, meaning MASTODON's sets will preview material from the new album while also drawing from their extensive back catalog.
Support across the tour will be provided by ROLO TOMASSI, the Sheffield experimental metal act who have consistently been one of the most praised live acts on the underground circuit. Tickets are available through the Ticketmaster network in each country, and multiple dates have already sold out in pre-sale, including London's Alexandra Palace (two nights, both sold out), Paris's Zénith, and Berlin's Velodrom. Metal Hammer has described the tour package as "a genuine heavy music event," noting that both bands deliver spectacular live productions.
