Wisconsin death metal stalwarts JUNGLE ROT have announced their 12th studio album, "Cruel Face Of War," set for release on May 15 via Unique Leader Records. The album contains 12 tracks produced by Chris Djuricic at Bell City Sound Company and continues the band's long-standing tradition of war-themed brutality.
A notable highlight is a guest vocal appearance from Dave Ingram — known for his work with BENEDICTION and BOLT THROWER — on the track "Horrors Vile." The collaboration brings together two of death metal's most war-obsessed entities for what promises to be a highlight of the record.
The lead single "Apocalyptic Dawn" is available now with an accompanying music video that delivers exactly what fans have come to expect from JUNGLE ROT: no-frills, crushing death metal with a groove-laden edge. The production captures the band's signature sound — thick, punishing guitar tones layered over relentless drumming and guttural vocals.
Following the album's release, JUNGLE ROT will take their assault overseas for the European "Back to the Old School Tour" alongside KHNVM and Rats Of Gomorrah. The tour promises a brutal package of underground death metal that stays true to the genre's roots.
Since forming in 1994, JUNGLE ROT have been one of death metal's most consistent and unpretentious acts. They have never chased trends or reinvented their sound, instead choosing to refine and perfect their particular brand of groove-infused death metal. "Cruel Face Of War" appears to be another salvo in their ongoing campaign of sonic warfare, and for the band's dedicated fanbase, that is exactly what they want to hear.
