Irish pagan black metal legends PRIMORDIAL have officially revealed the title, artwork, and complete tracklist for their tenth studio album "Exile Amongst the Ruins," announced for release on September 4, 2026 via Metal Blade Records. The album title, which resonates powerfully with the band's themes of Irish historical trauma, dispossession, and the weight of colonialism, was unveiled alongside artwork by long-time collaborator Andrei Bouzikov — a sprawling, desolate landscape of standing stones and storm clouds that perfectly captures the band's atmospheric grandeur.

The eight-track album, which clocks in at 62 minutes, features the following songs: "The Wanderer's Exile," "Between the Hammer and the Anvil," "Where the Ash Falls Like Rain," "Exile Amongst the Ruins" (the title track at 11 minutes), "The Weight of Ages," "Reclaim the Pale Bones," "Last Light on the Coast," and "The Oldest Shore." Based on the track lengths provided — none shorter than six minutes — the album promises to deliver the expansive, emotionally devastating black metal that has made PRIMORDIAL one of the most critically revered bands in the genre.

Frontman A.A. Nemtheanga (Ailill Magnusson) wrote in the announcement that "Exile Amongst the Ruins" is a direct response to what he sees as an existential crisis in Western civilization, with Ireland's historical experience of cultural erasure serving as a lens through which to examine contemporary political and spiritual collapse. The band's previous album "Exile Amongst the Ruins" follow-up to "Redemption at the Puritan's Hand" (2011) was a decade in the making. A European tour in October–November is already confirmed.
