Swedish melodic death metal legends AT THE GATES have shared the second single from their upcoming album, 'The Dissonant Void' — a track that carries enormous emotional weight. This is one of the final songs to feature vocalist Tomas Lindberg, who passed away in September 2025 from complications related to adenoid cystic carcinoma. Lindberg had originally considered giving this track the title of the entire album.

The accompanying music video was directed by Costin Chioreanu as part of a larger conceptual visual project built around the record. The song showcases the band's signature blend of crushing melodic death metal riffing and Lindberg's unmistakable vocal delivery — a performance that now takes on an even deeper resonance knowing the circumstances of its creation.

Their fourteenth studio album, 'The Ghost Of A Future Dead', arrives on April 24, 2026 via Century Media Records. The 12-track, 42-minute record was recorded and mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden, with artwork by Robert Samsonowitz. Bassist Jonas Björler described the album as "a mixture of 'Slaughter Of The Soul', 'At War With Reality' and some progressive elements." The return of guitarist Anders Björler after three years significantly shaped the material.

According to the band, Lindberg had recorded all vocal demos before undergoing major surgery in December 2023, and delivered his final vocal takes the day before going into the operating room. The result is a record that stands as both a triumphant creative statement and a deeply moving farewell from one of metal's most distinctive voices.

'The Ghost Of A Future Dead' is available for pre-order now via Century Media Records.
