California metalcore veterans ATREYU have shed light on their upcoming seventh studio album, "The End Is Not The End", set for release on April 24 via Spinefarm Records. Frontman Brandon Saller revealed in a new interview that this record marks the first time the band deliberately sat down to map out exactly what kind of album they wanted to make.

"For the first time, really, in our career, we sat down and talked about what we wanted the next album to be," Saller explained. The result is a record that leans hard into the elements that define ATREYU — the collision of punk energy, metal riffing, and hardcore intensity that refuses to fit neatly into any single genre.

Recording sessions took place across multiple locations, including Tokyo and the remote San Juan Island in Washington state, where the band isolated themselves for focused creative work. The island sessions reportedly produced some of the heaviest material on the album.

One of the record's standout moments is the single "Children Of Light," which features a collaboration with MAX CAVALERA — the legendary co-founder of SEPULTURA and the driving force behind SOULFLY. The track bridges generations of heavy music in a striking way.

ATREYU formed in 1998 in Orange County, California, and has consistently been one of the defining voices of modern metalcore. "The End Is Not The End" promises to be a bold statement from a band that has never been afraid to push its own boundaries.
