UK technical death metal heavyweights INGESTED have released "Watch You Fold," a punishing new single featuring guest vocals from DYING FETUS frontman John Gallagher. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album Denigration, due May 8 via Metal Blade Records.
Denigration arrives under difficult circumstances. Following a scandal involving former frontman Josh Davies, INGESTED had to re-record all vocals, with guitarists Sean Hynes and Andrew Virrueta stepping up as co-vocalists. The band enlisted a roster of prominent extreme metal guests: alongside Gallagher, PeelingFlesh's Damonteal Harris, Cell's Skyler Conder, and Bodysnatcher's Kyle Medina all contribute.
Hynes described the album's vision: "The music is a deliberate nod to that mid-2000s Unique Leader school of blasting brutal death metal, fused with Sean's melodic, brooding sense of atmosphere. It's technical without showboating, relentless without losing groove, and built around riffs that feel like concrete. Having John Gallagher from Dying Fetus on the track was about closing a circle — his gutturals are instantly recognizable and tie the whole thing back to the era that shaped our sense of heaviness."
