IRON MAIDEN Will Skip Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony to Honor Fans in Australia

IRON MAIDEN will not attend their own induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this November, choosing instead to honor their commitments to fans on the Australian leg of their historic "Run For Your Lives" 50th-anniversary tour.

The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, but the band will be deep in their Australasian run at the time: IRON MAIDEN play Melbourne on November 13 and Sydney on November 15, making the trip to L.A. logistically impossible.

Band manager Rod Smallwood addressed the scheduling conflict directly: "The band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the induction ceremony... fans always come first and the shows will go on."

The 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class is a diverse one, featuring Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan alongside IRON MAIDEN. The members being honored include Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers, as well as former members Dennis Stratton, Paul Di'Anno, Blaze Bayley, and the late Clive Burr.

IRON MAIDEN have been eligible for the Rock Hall since 2005 and earned approximately 395,000 fan votes this cycle. The Australasian leg of their "Run For Your Lives" tour also includes dates in Auckland, Adelaide, and Brisbane, with support from MEGADETH. The band remains one of the best-selling heavy metal acts of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide.

It is worth noting that IRON MAIDEN's decision is in line with the band's long-standing philosophy of putting live performance above all industry formalities — a stance that has defined their career since the very beginning.
