Forty years into one of thrash metal's most relentless careers, KREATOR frontman Mille Petrozza shows no signs of slowing down. In a conversation with Full Metal Jackie's radio show, Petrozza reflected on four decades steering one of Germany's most formidable metal acts and revealed what keeps the fire burning after sixteen studio albums.
"I don't think I'm gonna stop doing this until the day I die, really. I mean, it's just what I do," said Petrozza, whose dedication to the craft has driven KREATOR from their raw thrash origins to one of the genre's most sophisticated acts.
Petrozza credited the band's approach of spacing releases four to five years apart — rather than flooding the market annually — as key to maintaining genuine creative inspiration. He noted that early challenges centered on translating musical ideas into recorded form, whereas today's focus has shifted to emotional expression and ensuring that the band genuinely enjoys what they create.
KREATOR's most recent album Krushers Of The World, released in January 2026 and recorded in Sweden with producer Jens Bogren, serves as a testament to that philosophy. The band's documentary Hate & Hope, which premiered in September 2025, traces their full evolution, while Petrozza's autobiography — published in August 2025 — rounds out a remarkably productive period for one of metal's true lifers.
The band will kick off a U.S. tour on May 7 in Fort Lauderdale, giving North American fans a chance to catch KREATOR in full force.
