NEUROSIS vocalist and guitarist Steve Von Till has discussed the band's comeback album "An Undying Love For A Burning World" — their first release in nearly a decade — which features Aaron Turner, known for his work with SUMAC and the legendary ISIS, as a key creative contributor.

Von Till addressed the band's difficult period following the 2019 departure of co-founder Scott Kelly, describing the years between 2019 and 2022 as being in "purgatory." He explained that the band could not speak publicly about the situation during that time: "Couldn't talk. Couldn't say… Just tend to a rotting corpse."

The addition of Aaron Turner ultimately breathed new life into the band. "It instantly felt right. And the music started coming and the music that started coming was really inspiring," Von Till said.

Despite initial concerns that Turner's involvement was "too obvious" — with some anticipating jokes about "NEUR-ISIS" — the band ultimately felt his energy was essential to the creative rebirth.

The album was recorded over three two-week sessions at Studio Litho in Seattle, produced by Scott Evans, and mixed at Antisleep Audio in Oakland — approximately six weeks before its late March 2026 release. NEUROSIS will celebrate their return with their first live performance in seven years at the Fire In The Mountains festival in Montana.

The reunion of one of post-metal's most revered acts is a landmark moment for the genre.
