Progressive/thrash metal legends NEVERMORE have announced a fully reconstituted lineup, signed with Reigning Phoenix Music, and are actively writing new material. Guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams — the only surviving members of the band's classic run — are joined by three newcomers: vocalist Berzan Onen, guitarist Jack Cattoi, and bassist Semir Ozerkan.
NEVERMORE disbanded in 2011 and any hope of a classic reunion was permanently dashed by the passing of iconic vocalist Warrel Dane in December 2017. The band held off on reconvening until finding a singer capable of honoring that legacy. Loomis has stated that Onen "is able to sing almost exactly like Warrel Dane," while also possessing a death metal range that opens up entirely new sonic possibilities for the group.
Drummer Van Williams teased the new material as "delicious" — "so good it's gonna leave you hungry for more." The band made their live debut in the new configuration on April 1, 2026, in Istanbul, Turkey.
With Loomis's unparalleled technical guitar mastery anchoring the lineup and the band now backed by a proper label home, NEVERMORE's second chapter looks set to begin in earnest. Upcoming tour dates and an album timeline are expected to be announced soon.
