Former SEPULTURA frontman DERRICK GREEN has revealed he is already working on assembling a new band — even as the legendary Brazilian thrash act's farewell tour approaches its final North American leg.

Green, who fronted SEPULTURA for nearly three decades after joining in 1998, spoke to Heavy Matters (UK) about his plans: "I definitely would love to do another band. And I'm putting that together as we speak."

He acknowledged the challenge of forming a new creative unit from scratch: "It's like starting from scratch — well, not necessarily from scratch, but it's definitely a challenge to form that connection."

Green described the musical direction he envisions as a blend of hardcore influences, melodic elements, and the heavy groove he refined over decades with SEPULTURA: "I wanna have a mix of that, and for sure have a heavy groove on whatever it is I'm gonna do."

Beyond music, Green plans to deepen his passion for photography, fitness, health, and plant-based living.

SEPULTURA's final North American tour leg kicks off on April 29, 2026, with support from EXODUS, BIOHAZARD, and TRIBAL GAZE — marking the end of a 40-year run for one of metal's most iconic bands. Green remains one of the three members who steered SEPULTURA through its modern era, alongside guitarist Andreas Kisser and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr.
