SEPULTURA have launched the final North American leg of their "Celebrating Life Through Death" farewell world tour, which kicked off on April 29 in Montclair, New Jersey. The 32-date trek runs through May 29, concluding at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, with support from thrash metal legends EXODUS and New York hardcore stalwarts BIOHAZARD, joined by TRIBAL GAZE on select dates.
The tour represents one of the last opportunities for North American fans to witness SEPULTURA live. The Brazilian/American band — founded in Belo Horizonte in 1984 — plan to bring their farewell campaign to a close with a massive festival-style farewell concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil, tentatively scheduled for October 2026. Guitarist Andreas Kisser has described it as a "SEPUL-FEST" type event that will invite former members to participate — an implicit reference to the Cavalera brothers, Max and Igor, whose reunion with the band remains a tantalizing possibility.
As a final gift to fans, SEPULTURA are also releasing The Cloud of Unknowing EP — a four-song vinyl exclusive available through VIP tour packages. The material was recorded spontaneously during the band's appearance on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, featuring drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who joined following Eloy Casagrande's departure in 2024.
SEPULTURA leave behind a catalog that helped define heavy metal — from Schizophrenia (1987) to Beneath the Remains (1989), Arise (1991), and the globally influential Roots (1996). Whatever the final chapter looks like, their place in the pantheon is secure.
