SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has offered fans a glimmer of hope ahead of the Brazilian thrash metal legends' ongoing farewell tour, saying he doesn't rule out future shows once the final curtain falls.
"Dude, I don't rule anything out," Kisser told Jaimunji of Metal On Tap. "It's irrelevant to say if it's gonna be forever or we're gonna be back. The important thing is that we're gonna stop now. We need that rest, because we organize everything around that."
The guitarist invoked MOTÖRHEAD as an example of a band whose spirit transcends its physical end: "SEPULTURA is not gonna die. I mean, MOTÖRHEAD is more alive than… Unfortunately, we don't have the touring, but MOTÖRHEAD will be together with us forever."
Kisser also acknowledged the precedent set by other iconic acts who announced farewell tours only to return: "You see SCORPIONS, you see Ozzy, you see KISS and MÖTLEY CRÜE and SLAYER. It's okay to rest and to go out a little bit. It's very healthy."
On the subject of SEPULTURA's upcoming live album, Kisser confirmed the band is recording 40 songs across 40 different cities — a "massive compilation" of the best moments from their final run. A new SEPULTURA EP is also being performed live on the current tour.
SEPULTURA, formed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1984, have been one of the most influential metal acts of the last four decades. The farewell tour continues worldwide throughout 2026.
